This feature assists with inserting short URLS into a text message by presenting a drop down menu of the account's current short URLs. 

Auto Generate a SHORT URL while composing a message

Step 1 - Click the check-box at the bottom of the composer window to "Automatically Shorten Links." 

When checked, this option will shorten URLs up to 200 characters in length that are inserted directly into the message composer. 

Note: Long URLs that have already been shortened by the account will not generate a new short URL. Instead, the system will insert the previous short URL that was generated for the link. 

Manually Generate a SHORT URL while composing a message

Step 1 - Click the Short URL Icon from the tool bar, then click the ADD icon.   

Step 2 - Enter the long URL, including https://, an optional description, and then click the CREATE button.   

Step 3 - The newly generated SHORT URL will appear in the dropdown menu. Hover over any long URL on the list to see the short URL and description. 

Step 4 - Click the desired short URL from the list to add it to the text message.
